Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Hartford, CT
Job Description
This contract opportunity is ideal for dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs or SLPAs), including Clinical Fellows (CFs), who have a passion for supporting students with moderate to profound language disorders. Located near Hartford, CT, this role serves K-5th graders—many with Autism Spectrum Disorder or significant language delays—in a specialized, self-contained program. Two professionals are needed, with possible assignments at one or two sites, and the occasional chance to serve a nearby preschool (ages 3–5) one morning a week. Key Qualifications:
- Active state licensure or eligibility as SLP, SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA.
- Previous experience in pediatric, healthcare, or school-based settings strongly preferred.
- Confident with moderate to profound language delays, ASD, and AAC technology.
- Ability to supervise Clinical Fellows or SLPAs is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with evaluation protocols, triennials, SOAP notes, and Medicaid billing.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, including triennial evaluations, and interpret results.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students in self-contained settings.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings.
- Maintain thorough documentation: progress reports, Medicaid submissions, and SOAP notes.
- Collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff across multiple sites (all conveniently located a short distance from one another).
- Supervise support team members as needed.
