Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a pivotal leadership role as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health facility specializing in comprehensive treatment services. This position is ideal for a licensed Texas pharmacist experienced in hospital pharmacy operations and ready to guide a small pharmacy team through an important phase of growth and development.

Location:

  • San Antonio, TX (Cibolo area)
  • Nearest airport: San Antonio International

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • On-call duties after shifts and on weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy operations and fulfill PIC duties with full staffing and administrative oversight
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure safe, compliant, and effective medication use
  • Oversee the transition and training for order entry system (HCS) and site automation (Omnicell)
  • Provide on-call support and maintain continuity of pharmacy services outside regular hours
  • Contribute to facility efforts to regain CMS accreditation and support pharmacy departmental growth

Qualifications:

  • Active Texas pharmacist license, required
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy settings
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation preferred, training available
  • Ability to manage a small team including a full-time pharmacist and per diem pharmacist
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, especially in behavioral health environments
