Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by supporting a dedicated classroom as a Special Education Teacher. Located close to Brighton, this contract-based opportunity spans the upcoming academic year and focuses on empowering a diverse group of learners within a collaborative school environment.

Work at Manhattan Middle School, guiding a classroom of ten students alongside a robust support team including two full-time paraeducators, peer mentors, and seasoned specialists such as a BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, and a Psych/SW. Your commitment and specialized skills will be essential in creating a positive, inclusive, and impactful educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Hold or be in the process of obtaining an active CDE license (must provide documentation with application)
  • At least one year of prior classroom teaching experience
  • Strong collaborative mindset and adaptability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • Background or certification in special education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized educational plans for your students in close coordination with families and support staff
  • Adapt lessons to address diverse learning needs and abilities, maintaining engagement and progress across varied academic, social, and behavioral goals
  • Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate
  • Partner with paraeducators, mentors, and specialized staff to ensure consistent delivery of services and accommodations
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and other professionals to track progress and address emerging needs
