We are looking for a dependable Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst to provide onsite technical assistance at a distribution and operations facility in Romeoville, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who enjoys resolving day-to-day user issues, supporting a wide range of devices and applications, and working independently while partnering with a broader IT organization. The role offers a mix of frontline support, equipment setup, user account administration, and participation in technology improvement efforts across the business.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver first-level technical support for employees across office and operational environments, addressing issues related to computers, software, printers, mobile hardware, and connectivity.
• Diagnose and resolve incidents involving Windows systems, standard business applications, peripheral devices, and network access in a timely manner.
• Support operational technology used in warehouse and distribution settings, including handheld Android equipment and document or label printing tools.
• Monitor and manage service requests through the ticketing system, ensuring issues are properly prioritized, documented, and completed.
• Coordinate employee onboarding and separation tasks by preparing equipment, configuring access, and handling account-related updates.
• Install, configure, maintain, and replace desktops, laptops, printers, and other endpoint devices as needed for business operations.
• Partner with internal infrastructure teams and external vendors when issues require escalation or additional technical expertise.
• Contribute to IT initiatives such as hardware refreshes, software deployments, system upgrades, and other planned technology changes.
• Provide support outside normal business hours on occasion when urgent issues or project needs arise.• At least 2 years of experience in help desk, desktop support, or a similar end-user support role.
• Hands-on experience working in Microsoft-based environments, including Windows 10 and common enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and account administration in both cloud-connected and on-premises environments.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot workstation, peripheral, and basic network-related problems effectively.
• Experience using service desk or ticket management systems to track and resolve technical issues.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to support both office staff and operational employees.
• Comfortable working onsite in Romeoville, Illinois within a fast-paced distribution or industrial setting.
