Elementary Special Education Teacher in Elkhorn, NE

Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a rewarding contract role supporting elementary students. This full-time position is based near Elkhorn, NE, and offers the unique opportunity to make a difference across two welcoming elementary schools. You’ll spend half of each week (.5 FTE per school) providing valuable support to approximately 15-20 students. The assignment starts as soon as possible and runs through winter break, with the possibility for extension if a permanent hire isn’t selected.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) appropriate for elementary school level
• Prior experience in an elementary school setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and instructional strategies for diverse learners
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to adapt to two different school environments
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction, modify curriculum, and support students with a variety of special education needs
• Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Track and report student progress, modifying strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education staff to promote integration and inclusion
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
• Maintain accurate records while ensuring all compliance standards are met
