Special Education Teacher in Pickerington, OH

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active, valid Ohio certification/license in Education of the Handicapped K-12 or Intervention Specialist K-12 (Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate)
• Proven experience supporting students with multiple disabilities in diverse educational settings
• Comfortable and effective working in resource rooms, small group tutoring, and inclusive classroom models
• Skilled in accessing, developing, and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborative and adaptable mindset with a passion for helping students succeed

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual needs of kindergarten students
• Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement IEPs
• Coordinate both resource room and small group interventions
• Provide direct support in inclusion models to facilitate student participation and growth
• Document progress, maintain detailed records, and contribute to annual reviews and team meetings
• Foster a nurturing classroom environment where every student can thrive, regardless of ability
