Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting high school students in an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to enhance students’ educational journeys through your expertise as a Special Education Teacher.
Key qualifications:
- Active Michigan Special Education Teaching License (required; please provide screenshot verification)
- Previous experience teaching in special education settings, preferably in ASD high school classrooms
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including paraprofessionals and related service providers
- Solid classroom management skills and a commitment to individualized instruction
- Strong communication abilities with students, guardians, and school staff
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and structured learning environment
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specially designed instruction to students with ASD in small classroom settings
- Creating, implementing, and adapting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collecting and analyzing student data to guide instruction and document progress
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support
- Participating in IEP meetings, professional development, and required training sessions
- Maintaining accurate records and upholding confidentiality at all times
This opportunity features a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week during the academic year, onsite at a high school setting.
