Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in Autistic Support classrooms as a Special Education Teacher. This onsite, contract position offers the chance to empower students in a dynamic school setting near Gettysburg, PA, working Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM. Be a guiding force in a learning center committed to providing individualized academic and behavioral assistance for every student.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate is mandatory
- Must provide all required Pennsylvania clearances prior to starting
- Completion of assigned pre-training by the Intermediate Unit (IU) required
- Previous experience in Autistic Support or Special Education preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to changing classroom assignments and student needs
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instructional support to students in Autistic Support classrooms
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, support staff, and families to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track and document student progress, maintaining detailed records
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions
- Actively participate in team meetings to continually refine student learning plans
- Demonstrate flexibility with classroom assignment changes as needed
