Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young adults with special needs as they prepare for life beyond high school. This full-time role is designed for an educator passionate about bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world independence, working closely with students aged 18-21. Located in an intensive transition center setting, you’ll guide a caseload of twelve students, focusing on practical job readiness, daily living skills, and community engagement.
Key Qualifications:
- Active or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license (please provide documentation with your application)
- At least one year of classroom experience in special education
- Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and flexibility as a team player
- Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Strong data collection, reporting, and progress monitoring abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver personalized instruction to foster job readiness and independent living skills
- Guide students in both classroom and community-based settings to generalize learning to real-life contexts
- Collect data, maintain records, and align instruction with IEP and BSP objectives
- Collaborate with families, interdisciplinary teams, and community partners to support holistic student growth
- Write, revise, and implement IEPs per state and federal requirements
Benefits and Work Details:This position is on-site only and runs a full-time Monday-Friday schedule (8:00am–4:00pm), with 37.5 hours per week (35 work hours and 2.5 hours designated for unpaid lunch breaks). You’ll work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to empowering students as they transition into adulthood.
