Job Description
Put your nursing expertise to work in a rewarding educational environment as a School Nurse supporting students across multiple sites in the Ithaca, NY area. This full-time, contract opportunity runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with an engaging caseload that includes elementary and middle school students. You’ll travel between 12 different campuses within a single district, supporting on-site healthcare teams, assisting school nurses, and providing coverage wherever your skills are needed.
What You’ll Need:
- Valid RN license in the state of New York
- Prior experience in school or pediatric nursing is desirable
- Ability to adapt to various school settings and work collaboratively across multiple sites
- Strong organizational and communication skills to support both students and staff
- Commitment to the health and well-being of children in an educational community
Your Role Includes:
- Delivering skilled, compassionate care to elementary and middle school students
- Providing assistance to school nurses and stepping in for coverage across the district
- Conducting student health assessments, managing chronic and acute medical needs
- Serving as a health resource for students, families, and staff at multiple campus locations
- Maintaining accurate health records and ensuring confidentiality
- Promoting a safe and healthy environment consistent with school policies
