Job Description
A pharmacist opportunity is available on an evening shift at a busy acute care hospital pharmacy in Springfield, MO. This role focuses on medication verification and central pharmacy workflow coordination during a 7-on/7-off schedule from 2:30 pm to 12:30 am. The position requires active Missouri Pharmacist licensure and is suitable for candidates with at least one year of experience; new graduates will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and check medications, including IVs, premade IVs, creams, insulin pens, crash carts, kits, and prepackaged items using the EPIC system.
- Coordinate daily workflow within the central pharmacy, ensuring efficient medication product handling.
- Oversee pharmacy technician workflow, occasionally redirecting tasks to maintain operational efficiency.
- Maintain restocking accuracy of code carts and critical medication supplies.
- Collaborate with pharmacists focused on order review within the electronic health record system.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Missouri Pharmacist licensure required.
- One year of pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Additional Information:
- Shift: Evenings, 2:30 pm – 12:30 am, 7 days on, 7 days off (schedule may vary slightly).
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
- Assignment length: 13 weeks with a strong possibility of extension.
- Training will be provided for 2-3 weeks, tailored to the pharmacist’s capability, focusing on product verification procedures.
- The central pharmacy team includes multiple pharmacists and technicians working across day and evening shifts.
