Job Description
Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, working full-time with an enthusiastic group of middle school students in an onsite setting. This position focuses on providing targeted support within an Autistic Support Classroom for grades 7 and 8, fostering both academic and social development for a class of approximately six students. You'll collaborate with dedicated paraeducators who are present in the classroom to further enhance the learning environment and student success.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for middle school level
- Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders strongly preferred
- Background working with small groups in an educational setting
- Ability to implement IEPs and adapt instruction to individualized needs
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to partner effectively with PCAs and school staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom community
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver customized instruction for students in alignment with IEP goals
- Work closely with PCAs to maximize student engagement and achievement
- Collect data and monitor progress to inform adjustments in teaching approaches
- Maintain regular communication with families and team members regarding student successes and areas for growth
- Create a structured learning environment that emphasizes safety, respect, and encouragement
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
