Occupational Therapist School Setting - Rutherfordton, NC

Step into a rewarding opportunity working with a majority Pre-K caseload as a contract Occupational Therapist. This 12-week assignment, with extension potential, allows you to support young learners across multiple school sites near Rutherfordton, NC. Serving approximately 33 students, you’ll enjoy a dynamic setting with an itinerant schedule, working just 1-2 days per week—ideal for professionals seeking flexibility and meaningful impact.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Minimum of one year of experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
• Strong understanding of Pre-K child development and IEP documentation
• Skilled at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Proven ability to adapt quickly between school environments
• Comfortable managing a caseload of 30+ students

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide direct and consultative OT services to Pre-K students per IEPs
• Assess and document student progress, maintaining detailed records
• Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop effective strategies
• Travel to assigned school sites, offering high-quality, student-centered care
• Participate in eligibility, IEP meetings, and team consultations as required
• Support classroom modifications and accommodations to promote student access and participation
