Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid GA DOE Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) License (must be available and ready to present)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working with deaf or hard-of-hearing students
- Professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- Collaborative mindset and flexibility to support multiple classrooms and student needs
- Prior educational or school-based interpreting experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting for students onsite, ensuring meaningful access to instruction and school activities
- Assist both part-time at Alliance Academy and float between locations as assigned
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers while supporting classroom learning and participation
- Maintain ethical standards of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Adapt to changing schedules and the evolving needs of your assigned students
