Bring your passion and expertise to a dynamic elementary environment serving 3rd grade students with diverse learning needs. As a Special Education Teacher in this supportive school community, you’ll be working on a contract basis from August 24 through May 28. Enjoy collaborating with a team dedicated to empowering students and fostering their growth both in and out of the general education classroom.
You’ll have the opportunity to split your teaching time between pull-out instruction for individualized focus and push-in support within the general classroom environment. Paraprofessionals are available based on student IEP requirements, ensuring you’re set up for student success each day. The daily schedule is structured for an 8-hour day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch, providing ample time for instruction, collaboration, and planning.
Qualifications:
- Valid state Special Education Teacher certification or eligibility
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably at the 3rd-grade level
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for work with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt instruction for learners with varied needs in both push-in and pull-out settings
- Comfortable utilizing paraprofessional support to align with individualized student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to 3rd grade students in both general and specialized settings
- Assess, develop, and update IEPs in partnership with families and support staff
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service professionals to support student integration
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom climate where all learners can thrive
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
