Special Education Teacher - Burgaw, North Carolina

You'll work collaboratively in an environment that values inclusion and boasts a supportive, involved Exceptional Children Program. The school embraces both push-in and pull-out IEP models, providing variety in your day-to-day work with a manageable caseload of 20 students or fewer.

Your role will involve creating tailored lesson plans, managing IEP compliance, and working with a dedicated team to empower each student’s success academically and socially. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Special Education
• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation, particularly push-in/pull-out models
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability when working with diverse learning and behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small group instruction in academic and behavioral skills
• Develop, update, and implement IEPs in collaboration with staff and families
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment
• Partner with other educators, therapists, and support staff for student planning
• Effectively manage classroom dynamics and student behaviors

This full-time opportunity offers 37.5–40 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and running through the beginning of June 2027. Compensation starts at $38 per hour, with potential increases based on your experience.
