Job Description
Bring your passion for supporting students’ communication needs to this full-time speech-language pathology opportunity based near Sarasota, FL. You’ll have the chance to work across two engaging school settings, splitting your week between North Port High School (3 days) and Oak Park (2 days). Flexibility is available—candidates seeking part-time schedules are also encouraged to apply. This is an on-site only position.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Florida SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or eligibility to complete Clinical Fellowship Year (SLP-CFY)
- Previous experience working in educational settings preferred, though new graduates are welcome
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Compassion and enthusiasm for helping school-aged children succeed
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders to a diverse student caseload
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student progress
- Participate in team meetings and support school-wide initiatives
- Maintain thorough and organized records in compliance with state and district policies
- Engage students in creative, evidence-based interventions
- Regularly travel between North Port High and Oak Park in a pre-arranged, reliable schedule
