Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Previous experience in a K-8 educational environment preferred
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Positive, compassionate attitude toward students and families
- Commitment to professional and ethical standards
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying needs
- Develop and implement IEPs by collaborating with general educators and support staff
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learners
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes growth and confidence
- Communicate effectively with families and educational team members
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and ongoing professional development
