Job Description
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students as an onsite Registered Nurse. This full-time, contract role offers the chance to make a difference across multiple locations, covering 12 sites within a school district near Moravia, NY. You’ll collaborate closely with school nursing teams, float between campuses to assist and provide comprehensive care, and ensure students’ health needs are met throughout the academic day.
Your workdays will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, providing consistent hours and a balanced workweek. This role is ideal for professionals with a passion for pediatric or school-based nursing and who are comfortable adapting to different environments within an educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
- Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to various school environments
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, students, and families
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite nursing support across multiple school campuses
- Assist existing school nurses in delivering care and covering absences
- Address immediate student health concerns, administer medications, and implement care plans
- Record student health data and communicate relevant information with school teams
- Respond promptly to emergencies and implement safety protocols
- Participate in health promotion and wellness initiatives throughout the district
