An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to fill a full-time contract role covering a maternity leave at an elementary school near Boston, MA. This assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through December 23rd, providing essential support to students during a key part of the academic year.

In this role, you’ll work closely with students, faculty, and families to ensure tailored educational plans are implemented to help every child succeed. Your expertise will make a direct and lasting impact in a collaborative, supportive elementary environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience as a Special Education Teacher within a K–5 setting strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and implementation
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to classroom needs and manage a variety of student abilities
  • Positive, student-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized or small-group instruction to students with diverse learning needs
  • Develop, update, and implement IEPs in cooperation with fellow educators, specialists, and families
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress records for each student
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to scaffold classroom instruction
  • Use classroom management strategies to create a positive, supportive environment
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as needed
