Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in the Milwaukee area for the upcoming academic year. Seeking dedicated RN and LPN professionals for one-to-one school-based roles, providing care and support to students within an enriching educational setting.
Your assignment will focus on working with a single student at a designated school, ensuring attentive health monitoring and the opportunity to develop a meaningful connection throughout the school year. Student needs may include ventilator and tracheostomy care—candidates who are comfortable or certified in Vent/Trach procedures will thrive in this environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current Wisconsin RN or LPN license in good standing
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Minimum of one year’s experience in pediatrics preferred
- Physically capable of performing all responsibilities, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license required
- Must have recent (within the last two years) nursing experience or have completed a refresher course within the past year
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one nursing care for a student during the school day
- Monitor and respond to the student’s medical needs, ensuring comfort and safety
- Deliver specialized care, including Vent/Trach management, as needed
- Act as the primary healthcare advocate for the assigned student, maintaining detailed documentation
- Collaborate with educators and family to support the student’s optimal learning environment
