School-Based Physical Therapist - Kingwood, Texas
Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students in a welcoming educational environment near Kingwood, TX. You’ll play a vital role as a Physical Therapist, serving a diverse caseload and collaborating with dedicated staff to ensure all students receive the therapy support they need. This position offers 20 hours per week across 2.5 days, providing an excellent work-life balance. The contract runs from ASAP through May 21, 2027, allowing you to make a sustained impact.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Current and valid Physical Therapist (PT) license required
- Previous experience in a school-based setting with K-12 students preferred
- Strong skills in conducting evaluations and supervising support staff (including PTAs)
- Commitment to fostering physical development and promoting student independence
- Thorough understanding of special education practices and documentation requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop therapy plans, and deliver services in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to support student goals
- Supervise and provide guidance to a PTA assigned to your caseload
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student needs and achievements
