Step into an essential role supporting students’ growth as an onsite Occupational Therapist for a part-time contract opportunity. This position, located conveniently near Albuquerque, NM, requires your expertise in school-based therapy for the full academic year, working 4 hours per week. What we're looking for:
- Active OT license in New Mexico
- Previous experience providing occupational therapy in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEPs and the special education process
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both students and staff
- Ability to work independently and manage a small caseload effectively
- Commitment to fostering student independence and participation in school activities
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions to students with diverse learning needs
- Conduct assessments and collaborate in developing IEP goals and recommendations
- Document and update therapy progress, maintaining compliance with district and state guidelines
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to support students’ functional success
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as needed
- Provide training and resources to school staff in support of occupational therapy interventions
