Job Description
Step into an engaging contract position providing dynamic speech-language therapy in an educational setting. Multiple opportunities are open, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students across several schools in the Montgomery area. As an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist, your expertise will support children’s growth and communication skills, combining both direct therapy and comprehensive evaluations. With caseloads capped at 60 and locations thoughtfully split for balance, you’ll be empowered to focus on meaningful intervention.
Ideal Experience & Required Qualifications:
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Alabama SLP Educator Certificate (or eligibility to start pending approval)
- Previous work in a school setting strongly preferred
- Skilled in both individual and group therapy, and completing thorough speech/language evaluations
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Organized and adaptable across multiple campuses
Role Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language services to a varied caseload of K-12 students
- Conduct evaluations, interpret results, and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student progress
- Travel as needed between up to three campuses, with most assignments based at a primary school
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school guidelines and state requirements
- Engage in professional learning and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
