We are looking for an experienced Controller to support accounting and financial operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Waterbury, Connecticut. This role will lead core finance activities, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and provide oversight of close and budgeting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on leadership in day-to-day finance operations, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting and finance activities to maintain accurate records and support business operations.
• Lead the monthly close cycle, ensuring financial results are finalized on schedule and reviewed for accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation and accounting controls.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Produce regular financial reports and communicate key findings to leadership and stakeholders.
• Support budgeting activities by compiling financial data, analyzing variances, and assisting with forecast updates.
• Monitor the integrity of the general ledger and help strengthen processes that improve reporting reliability.• Demonstrated experience serving in a Controller or senior accounting leadership capacity.
• Strong background in month-end close and preparation of financial reporting deliverables.
• Proven ability to create and review journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
• Hands-on experience completing account reconciliations and investigating variances.
• Familiarity with NetSuite is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of budgeting processes and financial analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
