About the Role
We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our tax and general practice firm. This role is ideal for a professional with approximately 7-10 years of public accounting experience who is comfortable managing tax engagements, working directly with clients, and supporting a broad range of accounting and advisory needs. A CPA license is strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations and trusts
  • Manage tax planning and compliance engagements for a diverse client base
  • Provide general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial statement support for clients
  • Research tax issues and communicate conclusions clearly to clients and internal team members
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior staff
  • Assist with year-end planning, estimated tax calculations, and tax notices/responses
  • Support firm leadership with workflow management, practice development, and process improvement initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required
  • Master’s degree in accounting, Taxation, or a related field is a strong asset
  • Approximately 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
  • CPA / Enrolled Agent is preferred
  • Strong background in tax compliance and tax planning
  • Experience with individual and business returns
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting, financial statements, and client advisory support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client engagements effectively
  • Proficiency with common tax and accounting software (Ultra Tax and QuickBooks desktop especially)
