Construction Flagger
Job Description
Flaggers play a vital role in maintaining safety and order on road maintenance and construction sites. Working within medium-sized teams of 6 to 10 people, they are responsible for managing traffic flow, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and effectively communicating with site personnel. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, flaggers operate on regular daytime shifts and may also work night and weekend hours to support ongoing projects.
Responsibilities
- Control and direct traffic flow safely around work sites
- Enforce safety regulations and protocols for workers and the public
- Place and maintain appropriate signage to inform drivers
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
- Report incidents and hazards promptly to management
- Set up necessary equipment for traffic control operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in traffic control
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of traffic control and safety procedures
- Strong communication skills
- Alertness and teamwork ability
- Physical stamina to work varied shifts
- Problem-solving skills in dynamic environments
