Job Description
Role Purpose
The Marketing Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution of the marketing department and helps keep projects, communications, timelines, and processes organized and moving forward. As the most junior member of the team, this role provides broad support across marketing initiatives, creative routing, presentation development, reporting, competitive tracking, meetings, project coordination, and administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn. This role is designed for an early-career marketer who enjoys supporting a team, managing details, and contributing wherever needed to help achieve business goals. Success in this position requires strong follow-through, a positive attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Over time, and with demonstrated performance, the Marketing Coordinator will have opportunities to take on increasing responsibility, manage defined workstreams, and lead smaller marketing projects with guidance from the team
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Coordinator serves as a central support resource for the marketing team, helping ensure projects, communications, materials, and processes are organized and executed efficiently. Responsibilities will vary based on business needs and priorities and may include the following.
Marketing Administration & Team Support
- Schedule and coordinate recurring marketing meetings.
- Maintain team calendars, project trackers, timelines, and status reports.
- Organize shared files, photos, presentations, creative assets, and project documentation.
- Manage routing and collection of stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and action item recaps.
- Support invoice processing, purchase orders, budget tracking, and vendor paperwork.
- Assist with presentation formatting, proofreading, and meeting preparation.
- Coordinate shipping, ordering, and distribution of marketing materials.
- Provide general administrative and project support to the marketing team, adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
Marketing Programs and Project Coordination
- Support the planning and execution of national calendar programs, local marketing efforts, and broader brand initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining timelines, creative briefs, status documents, and deliverables.
- Track milestones and action items, follow up with partners, and proactively flag timing or execution risks.
- Coordinate project meetings, including agendas, materials, decisions, and next steps.
- Support program recaps, results reporting, key learnings, and other marketing priorities as needed.
Creative Development and Routing
- Coordinate the cross-functional review and approval of creative materials.
- Gather, consolidate, and communicate clear, actionable feedback from internal teams, agencies, franchisees, and other partners.
- Maintain organized records of creative versions, approvals, and final assets.
- Review materials for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards.
Presentations and Communications
- Build polished PowerPoint presentations for leadership, franchisees, internal meetings, and program recaps.
- Translate data, information, and project updates into clear, concise, and visually compelling slides.
- Support project communications that align internal, cross-functional, and field teams.
- Maintain presentation templates and help improve the consistency of marketing materials.
Data, Results, and Competitive Tracking
- Collect, organize, and conduct basic analysis of marketing performance data.
- Track results against program objectives and support post-program reporting.
- Identify performance trends and potential insights for further evaluation.
- Maintain competitive tracking across offers, menu innovation, advertising, promotions, partnerships, and relevant industry activity.
- Share timely competitive and category updates with the broader team.
Calendar, Process, and File Management
- Help maintain the national marketing calendar and track key dates, milestones, and dependencies.
- Organize shared files, templates, project materials, and historical documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline recurring processes and improve project visibility.
- Support budget tracking, invoice coordination, and communication of discrepancies or risks.
- Maintain accurate, current information for assigned projects.
Brand and Team Contribution
- Develop a strong understanding of Fridays’ brand, consumer, products, marketing calendar, and creative standards.
- Ensure assigned work reflects approved brand and strategic direction.
- Be a dependable, collaborative team member who willingly supports shared priorities.
- Demonstrate accountability, sound judgment, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Communicate proactively, respond constructively to feedback, and take on greater responsibility as capabilities develop.
- Learn core marketing processes while progressively taking ownership of limited project assignments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of relevant marketing, advertising, communications, account management, or project coordination experience; relevant internships may be considered.
- Restaurant, retail, hospitality, consumer brand, or agency experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong PowerPoint skills, including experience building clear, visually polished presentations.
- Working knowledge of Excel and the ability to organize data, perform basic calculations, and support marketing analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, project-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, stakeholders, and rounds of feedback.
- Demonstrated accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Collaborative, team-first approach and willingness to step in where needed.
- Interest in consumer marketing, restaurant trends, and competitive activity.
- Receptive to coaching and motivated to grow into greater project ownership.
