Job Description
The Lead Toddler Teacher plays a vital role in designing and implementing an engaging curriculum while managing daily classroom activities and supervising children. Reporting directly to the Center Director, this role emphasizes fostering an enriching learning environment through strong leadership, effective communication with parents, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Lead Toddler Teacher is dedicated to supporting both children’s developmental progress and staff professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement curriculum tailored to toddler developmental needs
- Manage daily classroom operations and maintain a safe, nurturing environment
- Plan and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with educational goals
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding child progress and classroom updates
- Assess children’s developmental progress and adapt lessons accordingly
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards
- Facilitate staff training and professional development initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education
Preferred Qualifications
- Child Development Associate credential or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of child development principles
- Expertise in lesson planning and classroom management
- Skillful in behavioral observation and intervention
- Excellent communication skills with parents and team members
- Creative approach to curriculum development
- Patience and empathy in working with toddlers
