Mechanic Diesel
Job Description
If you’re a true Lead Master Mechanic - Diesel, you already know the drill: you get handed the worst diagnostic nightmare in the shop, spend three hours chasing a ghost wiring issue, and get paid 0.8 hours on a flat-rate ticket while the shop manager micromanages your afternoon.
We don't operate that way.
We are looking for a Mechanic - Diesel who brings serious brains, autonomy, and shop leadership to our crew. We pay top-tier straight hourly pay because complex troubleshooting takes precision and patience—not shortcuts. You run your bay, mentor the team, deal straight with customers, and go home every weekend with a steady, reliable paycheck.
What You Get (WIIFM):
- Top-Tier Straight Hourly Pay: based on experience. Your steady income doesn't depend on how fast service advisors book work.
- Real Work-Life Balance: Consistent Monday through Friday schedule. Enjoy your weekends off.
- Sign-On & Relocation Package:
- Up to $1,500 Sign-On Bonus (paid out across your 1st year).
- Up to $500 Allowance for tool/boot coverage or box relocation assistance.
- Continuous Paid OEM Training: We fund your ongoing certifications and advanced software training (Cummins, Detroit, CAT, PACCAR).
- Comprehensive Benefits: Health coverage, 10 paid holidays, and 1 week PTO in your first year.
- Total Shop Autonomy: We give you the space, tools, and respect to diagnose and repair vehicles the right way.
What The Role Demands:
- Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: You aren't just a parts replacer. You are the shop’s go-to problem solver for heavy electrical, engine overhauls, hydraulic systems, and drivability issues.
- Fleet Compliance & Inspections: Ensuring commercial equipment meets strict DOT safety standards and preventive maintenance cycles.
- Shop Leadership & Mentorship: You lead by example, bring a "can-do" attitude, and actively support junior techs when they run into a wall.
- Customer Education: You can break down complex mechanical fixes into simple, clear language so fleet managers and owners understand exactly what was done and why.
What You Bring:
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in diesel repair, heavy commercial truck maintenance, or mobile fleet service.
- Mindset: Sharp analytical brains, pride in work quality, and the confidence to operate with high autonomy.
- Tools: A complete set of personal professional hand and power tools suitable for medium and heavy-duty diesel work.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with a clean, acceptable driving record. (Class A or B CDL is a big plus, but not required).
