This position is responsible for the management and delegation all medical assistant (MA) responsibilities and ensures efficient patient flow along with patient satisfaction. The MA Lead oversees that all MA responsibilities are done effectively and within the guidelines of Mountain Park.

Essential Functions

  • Keeps staff informed through verbal and written communications of new or updated standards, systems, procedures, forms and manuals through staff meetings and verbal and written communications.
  • Suggests alternative methods and procedures in solving problems.
  • Assists with holding team accountable for their performance.
  • Collaborates within teams to provide comprehensive training for staff, ensuring training model is patient-centered and mission-focused.
  • Works as an extension of their manager, both addressing issues or barriers in real time and providing feedback to the manager about issues and barriers they are addressing.
  • Oversees and manages the clinical workflow ensuring timely completion of all MA tasks.
  • Performs/delegates checking and documentation of emergency equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with all Clinical Laboratory of Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived testing requirements.
  • Helps to oversee compliance for instrument processing and storage of instruments.
  • Identifies any new equipment needs and requests these from the supervisor; follows expectations and processes related to equipment repair.
  • Prepares staff schedules to provide adequate coverage including contingency planning for staff absence. Delegates assignments and communicates to the supervisor of any staffing concerns.
  • Oversees ordering of clinical supplies, and medications, and maintaining par-levels.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • MA Certification
  • 2 years of Medical Assistant experience, and
  • 1 year experience in a leadership role
  • Current CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electronic Health Record experience
  • Registered medical assistant (RMA) or certified medical assistant (CMA) credential
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Somali/English)
