Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experience
Experience: 5–7 years of progressive Project Engineering experience preferred
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead engineering and manufacturing projects from initial concept through completion. This role combines hands-on engineering, project management, product development, and manufacturing process improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, excellent project management skills, and experience working in a manufacturing environment. Experience with mold fabrication or plastics manufacturing is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering and manufacturing projects from planning through implementation.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation.
- Coordinate engineering design, research, prototyping, and process improvement activities.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors throughout project execution.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, estimating, customer service, and leadership teams.
- Support project bidding, contract negotiations, cost estimating, and budget management.
- Prepare engineering drawings, designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Research new materials, equipment, and manufacturing technologies.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability, feasibility, product performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Work with suppliers to ensure engineering specifications and material requirements are met.
- Support continuous improvement and manufacturing process optimization initiatives.
- Monitor project progress, costs, quality, safety, and technical requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
- 5–7 years of progressive Project Engineering experience preferred.
- Experience managing engineering and/or manufacturing projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering design and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent project management, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Preferred Experience
- Mold fabrication experience.
- Plastics manufacturing experience.
- Manufacturing engineering or process improvement experience.
- Experience coordinating suppliers, contractors, and manufacturing partners.

Work Environment
This is an on-site position in Hudson, New York, working closely with engineering, production, purchasing, estimating, customer service, suppliers, and other internal teams.
The environment is fast-paced and emphasizes safety, quality, innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. Some physical activities may include standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling items up to 20 pounds.
