Full Charge Bookkeeper / Senior Accounting Professional (Part-Time)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage the day-to-day accounting operations of our organization. This hands-on role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, payroll oversight, account reconciliations, and multi-state sales and use tax compliance. This position also provides cross-trained backup support for key accounting and administrative functions, making reliability, organization, and sound judgment essential.

Schedule

• Part-time (20–30 hours per week)
• Monday–Friday
• Flexible schedule within normal business hours

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, fixed assets, payroll oversight, and cash management
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
• Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate accounting records
• Prepare management reports and support budgeting and forecasting
• Manage multi-state sales and use tax registrations, filings, payments, and compliance
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, banks, and regulatory agencies
• Maintain internal controls and recommend process improvements
• Cross-train as backup support for key accounting and administrative functions

Preferred Experience

• Budgeting and forecasting
• Manufacturing or multi-entity accounting
• ERP systems
• Process improvement and internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred
• Five or more years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
• Experience with month-end and year-end close
• Experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently
• High level of accuracy, professionalism, and integrity

Physical Requirements

• Primarily office-based with extended computer use
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
