Lead Teacher
Creative Learners Academy is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and experienced Lead Teacher to provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
The Lead Teacher is responsible for managing the classroom, implementing curriculum and lesson plans, supervising classroom staff, maintaining required records, and building positive relationships with children and families.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, may be considered
Minimum of one year of experience working in an early childhood education setting
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
Ability to successfully complete required state and federal background checks and Child Abuse Registry checks
Must meet all licensing health requirements, including TB screening and required medical documentation
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and actively supervise children throughout the workday
Dependable transportation required; valid driver’s license may be required
CPR/First Aid certification preferred or must be obtained as required
Key Responsibilities
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities using Creative Learners Academy’s curriculum
Support children’s social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, and developmental growth
Maintain a safe, welcoming, organized, and engaging classroom environment
Supervise children closely during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest periods, transitions, and other routines
Assist with diapering, potty training, handwashing, feeding, and other age-appropriate care routines as needed
Observe and assess children’s development and maintain accurate records
Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s progress and daily experiences
Supervise, guide, and support assistant teachers and other classroom staff
Maintain accurate attendance, incident, assessment, health, and classroom documentation
Follow all Creative Learners Academy policies and applicable state licensing, health, and safety requirements
Participate in required staff meetings, professional development, training, and continuing education
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, dependability, flexibility, and teamwork
Assist with transportation and supervision of children when required
Perform other duties as assigned by administration
