Warehouse Mechanic
Job Description
At Connell Equipment Leasing Company, we're looking for an experienced Mechanic with the knowledge and mechanical instinct to identify what equipment needs, determine the right course of action, and get the job done safely and with quality. From preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to diagnosing problems and completing repairs, you'll take a hands-on approach to keeping our forklift and equipment fleet safe, reliable, and ready to perform.
We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in machine and equipment maintenance who believes quality workmanship and safety go hand in hand. Experience with forklifts, material-handling equipment, or heavy equipment is a significant plus, but what matters most is a strong mechanical foundation, a hands-on mindset, and pride in getting the job done right.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Keep our equipment ready to perform by inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing forklifts and other equipment with a focus on safety, reliability, and quality workmanship.
- Identify what needs attention and take action, using your mechanical knowledge and judgment to diagnose issues, determine the appropriate repair, and see the work through to completion.
- Be a trusted mechanical resource for the CELCO team, communicating equipment concerns clearly, sharing recommendations, and helping determine when additional service, parts, or repairs are needed.
- Put safety at the center of every repair, following established procedures, using tools and equipment properly, and ensuring equipment is safe and ready for operation before returning it to service.
- Stay ahead of equipment problems by performing preventative maintenance, recognizing signs of wear or potential failure, and addressing concerns before they become larger repairs or operational disruptions.
- Take pride in doing the job right, completing repairs thoroughly and efficiently while maintaining high standards for workmanship, accuracy, and equipment care.
- Maintain an organized and professional work environment, keeping tools, equipment, parts, and service areas clean, safe, and ready for the next job.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–6 years of foundational experience in mechanical, machine, industrial, or equipment maintenance and repair, with demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic ability.
- A working knowledge of preventative maintenance, mechanical systems, equipment diagnostics, and repair practices.
- A safety-first mindset and demonstrated commitment to performing work properly, following safe work practices, and returning equipment to service only when it is ready to operate safely.
- Strong mechanical instincts and sound judgment, with the ability to assess equipment, identify what needs attention, determine the appropriate repair, and follow the work through safely and effectively.
- High standards for quality and workmanship, with attention to detail and pride in completing repairs thoroughly and correctly.
- Experience with forklifts, material-handling equipment, construction equipment, or other heavy equipment is a major plus.
- The ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance and repair needs, communicate equipment concerns clearly, and collaborate effectively with the CELCO team.
- A valid driver's license and ability to meet the physical requirements of a hands-on equipment maintenance environment.
Supporting Your Success
- 100% employer-paid medical and dental coverage
- Exceptional retirement benefits, including a generous employer-funded pension
- Paid time off and company-paid holidays
- Company-paid life insurance and additional employee protections
- Professional development and opportunities to grow within Connell Equipment Leasing

If you're a skilled mechanic who can identify what needs attention, solve problems with confidence, and believe safety and quality should never be compromised, we'd like to hear from you.
