  • This is a field-based/on-site role requiring the candidate to travel to employer/client locations. The consultant will travel to different employer/client locations throughout Southern California, including the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
  • If there is no meeting, the candidate does not work and is not paid.
  • Travel time is paid from the time the consultant leaves home until they return home.
  • Must understand that this is not a guaranteed 40-hour/week position.

    Role Overview
    We are looking for a Healthcare Benefits Specialist / Enroller to represent Client’s at employer-group meetings throughout Southern California, including the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
    The role involves attending open enrollment meetings, wellness fairs, and new hire orientations, explaining client’s medical plans, answering employee benefit questions, and providing information about available healthcare benefits.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Attend employer/client open enrollment meetings.
  • Attend wellness fairs and employee wellness events.
  • Attend new hire orientation meetings.
  • Explain healthcare and medical plan benefits to employees.
  • Answer questions regarding medical insurance and available benefits.
  • Provide benefit information, materials, and resources to employees.
  • Represent Client professionally at client/employer locations.
  • Set up and support a Client’s information table at events.
  • Distribute benefit information and promotional materials.
  • Deliver formal presentations when required.
  • Review client-specific plan information before attending meetings.
  • Work with client’s account teams to understand the specific benefits being offered to each employer group.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is not mandatory.
  • High school education with relevant healthcare/benefits experience may be considered.
  • Healthcare background or healthcare benefits experience is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of healthcare experience is NOT required.
  • Candidates with healthcare, health insurance, employee benefits, or HR benefits backgrounds are encouraged to apply.


Schedule
This is an as-needed / event-based part-time position, not a standard 40-hour-per-week role.

  • Meeting schedules vary based on client demand.
  • Some days may have no meetings.
  • Some days may have one or multiple meetings.
  • Individual meetings can generally range from approximately 2–6 hours.
  • There is no guaranteed 40-hour workweek.
  • There is no work/pay when there are no scheduled meetings.
  • Flexibility and reliability are important.


Travel Requirement
This is NOT a remote position.
The consultant will travel to different employer/client locations throughout Southern California, including the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
Travel time is paid from the time the consultant leaves home until they return home.
Candidates should be local to Southern California or able to reliably cover the required Southern California client locations.

Training
Training will be provided by the appropriate Client’s account teams before the consultant attends client meetings.
The team will review the specific employer group's medical benefits and make sure the consultant understands the plan information before representing Client at the meeting.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a healthcare, health insurance, employee benefits, or HR benefits background and be comfortable explaining medical benefits to employees.
This role can be a strong fit for professionals with prior healthcare experience who enjoy part-time, flexible, customer-facing and presentation-oriented work.
