Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Field Service Technician II to provide on-site IT support across multiple client locations throughout the Columbus, OH area. This is a 100% field-based role requiring travel between customer sites to perform technical support, break-fix services, hardware installations, network device deployment, system upgrades, and IT infrastructure maintenance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with desktop and network technologies, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, POS systems, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Perform break-fix diagnosis and repair of IT hardware and related equipment.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
- Execute IMAC activities (Install, Move, Add, Change) for end-user devices and IT infrastructure.
- Support PC refresh, hardware deployment, and technology upgrade projects.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment including:
- Routers
- Switches
- Firewalls
- Wireless devices
- Perform system upgrades, hardware replacements, and software installations.
- Diagnose and resolve connectivity, network, and hardware-related issues.
- Document service activities, work orders, and resolution details accurately.
- Coordinate with remote support teams and vendors to resolve escalated issues.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional communication and timely issue resolution.
- Maintain compliance with client site procedures and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT field support, desktop support, or field services.
- Experience performing break-fix support for desktops, laptops, printers, and POS devices.
- Working knowledge of:
- Windows operating systems
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Network fundamentals
- Peripheral device support
- Experience with IMAC and PC refresh projects.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently in a field environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple service calls and prioritize workload effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between customer locations.
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment as required.
