The Role

You will run a purpose-built PIRTEK mobile workshop van and respond to service calls across the Valley. Most days you will diagnose a failed hose, cut, clean, tag, and crimp a replacement on site, get the machine back in service, and leave the customer with a clean, documented job.

Hydraulic hose experience is not required. We train you on PIRTEK products, processes, safety, and how to operate the van. Mechanical aptitude, a clean driving record, and the willingness to work dirty jobs in heat, rain, and after hours matter more than a hose-shop resume.

This is a messy, physical, customer-facing job. You will get oil on your hands, climb on equipment, and take rotating after-hours calls. If you like working independently, solving problems on the spot, and representing a local business on site, this is the role.

Responsibilities

· Respond to on-site service calls across Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley, indoors and outdoors

· Identify worn, leaking, or failed hydraulic and industrial hoses

· Remove the failed assembly and fabricate the replacement on the van (cut, clean, tag, crimp)

· Install the new hose and confirm the equipment is running before you leave

· Contain and clean oil spills and contaminants to the customer’s standard and to federal, state, and local rules

· Perform preventative hose inspections and recommend replacements before a breakdown

· Build relationships with new and existing customers and look for follow-up work

· Enter job details accurately so invoices are correct

· Keep the van, tools, inventory, and uniforms clean, stocked, and ready

· Follow PIRTEK and job-site safety rules, including PPE and site-access requirements

· Participate in the rotating after-hours and weekend on-call schedule

· Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

Required

· High school diploma or GED

· Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

· Ability to pass a background check

· Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work in awkward positions

· Ability to work outdoors in South Texas heat and weather

· Ability to read, write, and communicate with customers in English

· Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working alone in the field

· Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

· Bilingual English / Spanish

· Experience on heavy equipment, diesel trucks, marine equipment, farm equipment, industrial maintenance, or automotive / field mechanics

· Prior mobile service, hose fabrication, or hydraulic system work

· Local knowledge of Brownsville, Harlingen, and Cameron County job sites

· Ability to obtain site credentials (TWIC, OSHA 10, MSHA, or customer-specific badges) as needed
