Automation Technician I
Job Description
· Hands-on approach with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), sensors and automated machinery
to reduce human intervention, minimize downtime and keep production and assembly lines running
both safely and efficiently.
· Routinely inspect equipment and calibrate instruments
· Follow all company safety policies including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machine
guarding, and PPE requirements
· Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with established
procedures, work instructions, and safety standards.
· Diagnose mechanical electrical or software malfunctions using tools such as diagnostic software to fix
faulty parts
· Adjust, edit or write basic code for PLCs and robotic assembly tools
- Program, test and troubleshoot PLCs and robotic machinery
· Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
· Cleans and lubricates bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
· Replace labels, ribbons, lights, gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment in
automation machinery/cells
· Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including pumps, valves, cylinders,
regulators, filters, and associated piping
· Programs, installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical
components of machinery and equipment ie robots and programmable controllers
