General Laborer – Metal Manufacturing

Location: Becker, MN
Pay: $18–$22/hour
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are currently hiring General Laborers to support daily operations in a metal manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for dependable candidates who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in manufacturing, machining, or metalworking.

The General Laborer will assist with material handling, machine operation, grinding, deburring, cleaning, assembly, and other production tasks as needed to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, move, and organize raw materials, metal parts, and finished products.
  • Assist machine operators, welders, fabricators, and other production employees.
  • Perform grinding, deburring, cleaning, and finishing of metal parts.
  • Safely use hand tools and basic power tools.
  • Assist with cutting, drilling, sawing, assembly, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Inspect parts for obvious defects, damage, or quality issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
  • Follow work instructions, production schedules, and supervisor direction.
  • Report equipment problems, unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or quality concerns to a supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or metalworking experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and dependable work habits.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and lift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Heavier materials are moved using appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • Ability to work around noise, dust, metal debris, machinery, and other normal manufacturing conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear.
