Cabinet Installer
Guided Design is looking for a reliable, hardworking Cabinet Installer to join our team. The majority of this person’s time will be installing custom cabinetry, trim work, finish work, and completing detailed punchlists. Other areas you may have the opportunity to work in are cabinet making, low-voltage lighting, framing, decking, window and stair customizations, crown molding, and baseboard installations. Our ideal candidate has an aptitude for precision and can accommodate unique build requirements from clients. We prefer candidates who have prior experience or training in custom cabinetry installation.
Finish Carpenter Duties and Responsibilities
- Mark out layout, install custom cabinetry and associated finish carpentry work
- Perform finish and trim carpentry work according to plans and specifications
- Measure, cut, and install various fixtures and millwork for doors, windows, ceiling panels, staircases, decking, furniture, etc.
- Collaborate with other carpenters, journeymen, and supervisors to complete projects
- Complete detailed punch list work
Finish Carpenter Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Keen attention to detail
- Blueprint reading skills
- Able to use common hand tools and power tools
- PPE and carpentry trade tools
- Troubleshooting and communication skills
- Physical stamina for lifting equipment and working at various heights and in tight spaces
Guided Design Cabinetry & Interiors is an interior design and general contracting company located in Lincoln Park with a custom shop in Niles, IL. Virtually all of our projects are interior renovations, so working outside during the winter is not expected.
