Title:Engineering Technician
Work Schedule - Standard Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 p
Location: 555 Industrial Blvd, Sugar Land TX


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician or in a closely related technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Electrical circuits and electronic troubleshooting.
    • Hydraulic systems and hydraulic circuit troubleshooting.
    • Mechanical maintenance and repair practices.
  • High mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn software applications used for equipment diagnostics and operations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical training, certifications, or education related to electro-mechanical technology.
  • Experience with wireline cable operations and maintenance (oilfield/wireline cable experience preferred).
  • Forklift certification is a plus but not required

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, service, and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform maintenance and testing activities on downhole tools and related equipment.
  • Utilize computer-based software systems to support equipment operation, diagnostics, and maintenance activities.
  • Learn and support wireline cable-related operations as part of ongoing development within the role.
  • Follow company safety and operational procedures while maintaining equipment reliability and performance.

Top Skills

  1. Electro-mechanical technician experience (5+ years preferred).
  2. Electrical circuit troubleshooting.
  3. Hydraulic system troubleshooting.
  4. Strong mechanical aptitude.
  5. Basic computer/software skills.
  6. Wireline cable experience (preferred, not required).

The Engineering Technician/Technologist is responsible for performing tests, collect data and report in all phases of product design and development. The Engineering Technician/Technologist prepares product design layouts.

* Set up and conduct routine and non-routine tests.

* Collect, organize and prepare short reports on data from tests, including analysis and conclusions.

* Work with engineers and technicians on the set up, performance and data reporting for non-routine and complex tests.

* Work with Manufacturing to resolve problems related to product design. May including reviewing redlined production drawings or auditing manufacturing processes.

* Prepare conceptual sketches of new designs or product innovations, as well as detailed part drawings.

* Prepare and plot pump and motor performance curves from tests and analytical data.

* Prepare test and fabrication requests as required in support of various projects.

* Assist in construction or disassembly of laboratory test units or field test prototypes, including processing necessary manufacturing and purchasing paperwork.

* Maintain an engineering notebook of all significant activity.
