Trailer Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our established mobile fleet repair company. For the right person, this position may also provide a future opportunity to purchase a fully equipped service truck and take over selected established trailer accounts to operate your own mobile repair business.

If you've thought about working for yourself but don't want to start from scratch buying equipment and building a customer base, this could be a unique opportunity.

We are looking for an experienced Trailer Mechanic who can work independently performing mobile repairs and maintenance for established fleet customers.

This is a full-time position with an established mobile fleet repair company. We are looking for someone dependable who takes pride in their work and knows how to take care of customers.

Duties include:

• BIT & FHWA inspections
• Brake and axle repairs
• Suspension repairs
• Roof and side-panel repairs
• 5th wheel repairs
• Welding and fabrication
• General trailer repair and preventative maintenance
• Completing work orders and accurately recording parts used
• Driving and operating a company service truck

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year verifiable trailer repair experience
• Clean driving record
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Able to work independently
• Dependable and on time
• Professional with customers

The owner is considering downsizing the trailer-repair side of the company.

For the right mechanic, there may be an opportunity in the future to purchase one of our fully equipped service trucks and take over selected established trailer accounts, giving you the opportunity to transition into operating your own mobile trailer-repair business.

Instead of starting from scratch buying a truck, equipment and trying to find customers, the right person could have an opportunity to step into an established operation.

Any future purchase of equipment or transition of customer accounts would be separately negotiated and is not guaranteed as part of employment.
