We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and personable Medical Receptionist to support the daily operations of our neurosurgical practice. This role is central to the patient experience and front office efficiency, serving as the first point of contact and setting the tone for every patient interaction.
The ideal candidate brings professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment while ensuring a seamless and positive patient journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Experience & Front Desk Leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors, and vendors—both in person and over the phone
- Deliver a welcoming, professional, and empathetic experience that reflects the standards of the practice
- Guide patients through their visit, setting clear expectations and ensuring comfort and confidence throughout
Communication & Care Coordination
- Manage high-volume inbound and outbound communication with accuracy and professionalism
- Provide timely updates to patients regarding appointments, documentation, and next steps
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize wait times
Scheduling & Operational Execution
- Schedule, confirm, and adjust patient appointments in alignment with provider availability and clinic workflows
- Oversee check-in and check-out processes, ensuring efficiency and attention to detail
- Maintain an organized and well-paced front office environment
Administrative Accuracy & Compliance
- Accurately enter and maintain patient information within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Verify demographic and insurance details and collect payments as required
- Ensure all front office activities comply with HIPAA and regulatory standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or high-touch service environment preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience with scheduling systems and EHR platforms (e.g., eClinicalWorks preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional demeanor with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical setting
