Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Key Responsibilities

• Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive physical exams, monitor growth and development, perform Tanner staging, and developmental screenings.
• Diagnosis and Treatment: Identify and manage acute illnesses (e.g., infections) and chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes), prescribe medications, and order therapies.
• Preventive Care: Administer immunizations, provide anticipatory guidance, and educate families on nutrition, safety, and disease prevention.
• Chronic Condition Management: Develop and coordinate care plans for children with special healthcare needs, collaborating with sub-specialists.
• Family Education: Empower families to manage illnesses at home and navigate social determinants of health.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
• Documentation and Research: Maintain accurate patient records, assist with clinical research, and contribute to patient education materials.

We are a well-established and busy private practice. We have two locations, one in Westover Hills San Antonio and Helotes.
