Childcare Director

The Childcare Director leads the local community-focused childcare program, balancing administrative responsibilities with direct child interaction. Reporting directly to the Owner, this role manages a medium-sized team of 6-15 staff members and ensures the delivery of high-quality childcare services through effective program development, staff management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of childcare staff ensuring high performance and engagement
• Develop and implement age-appropriate childcare programs tailored to community needs
• Maintain compliance with all relevant childcare regulations and standards
• Oversee budget planning and expenditure to ensure financial sustainability
• Communicate effectively with parents to address concerns and provide updates
• Coordinate staff training and professional development initiatives
• Supervise facility management to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
• Ensure child safety protocols are rigorously followed at all times
• Manage enrollment processes and maintain accurate records
• Continuously improve program quality through regular assessments and feedback
• Provide strong team leadership and resolve conflicts to foster a collaborative workplace

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in childcare management
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Child Care Director Credential or equivalent certification
• Proven skills in program management and staff supervision
• Strong knowledge of child development principles
• Experience with regulatory compliance in childcare settings
• Budget management expertise
• Excellent parent communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution abilities
