GENERAL SHOP LABOR

Underwood Fire Equipment is one of the leading fire suppression companies in the world. We are seeking to hire a laborer to join our team. This position is responsible for performing various physical duties as assigned to aid in daily operations in our shop. Duties include operating basic hand tools, assisting machine operators and welders; loading and shipping and receiving. Housekeeping and material handling are also components of this position.

Daily responsibilities:

· Follow safety procedures and guidelines, wearing appropriate safety gear

· Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained

· Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials

· Accurately and efficiently assemble components according to blueprints, schematics, and instructions

· Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble parts, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications

· Verify specifications by measuring completed components

· Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notifying supervisors for additional resources

· Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs

· Quality control and testing fabricated fittings

· Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently

· Document actions by completing production and quality forms

· Work as part of a team in the assembly stage, collaborating effectively with other workers

· May be involved in receiving, counting, and stocking parts, as well as checking inventory levels

· Review incoming /outgoing materials for damage and accuracy

· Be flexible and able to multitask

Candidate requirements:

· Ability to lift 50+ pounds

· 1-2 years warehouse working experience preferred

· PC Skills with MS office: outlook, word, excel

· Hi-Lo experience preferred

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to receive and follow directions

· Detail oriented with accurate results

· Efficient in fast paced environments

· Organized, self-motivated, and positive attitude

· Honest, reliable and great work ethics

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
