Job Title: HVAC Service Technician and/or Installer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential and/or commercial settings.
Service Technician Duties:
- Inspect and diagnose HVAC systems to identify issues.
- Perform repairs on HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and tune-ups on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Replace or repair defective equipment, components, or wiring.
- Test system functionality and ensure systems are operating per manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and energy efficiency best practices.
Installer Duties:
- Install new HVAC systems including ductwork, thermostats, air handlers, condensers, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ensure installations comply with local building codes and safety standards.
- Perform start-up and commissioning of HVAC systems.
- Collaborate with other trades (electricians, plumbers, general contractors) as needed on job sites.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and company vehicle.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or HVAC certification preferred).
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Required).
- 4+ years of experience in HVAC service and/or installation.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigerants.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs), work in confined spaces, and perform physical labor.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- NATE certification or other industry credentials.
- Experience with smart thermostats and energy management systems.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC systems.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May involve climbing ladders, working on rooftops, and accessing crawlspaces or attics.
- On-call availability for emergency service (if required).
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage or salary based on experience. $30-$42 Hourly
