Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and monitor equipment performance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to less-experienced maintenance technicians and trainees.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from production and other departments while maintaining strong, collaborative working relationships.
  • Operate and maintain maintenance equipment in accordance with established procedures and provide direction to other technicians to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Maintain equipment in a safe, reliable, and production-ready condition, taking proactive measures to prevent equipment failures and unplanned downtime.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and communicate key updates related to safety, quality, maintenance, production, and continuous improvement.
  • Follow established work instructions and procedures while demonstrating a high level of self-motivation, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify equipment issues, determine appropriate corrective actions, and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and promote the same standards among team members.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other equipment issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Support and/or lead preventive maintenance programs, ensuring maintenance schedules are completed and documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Safely lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as required to perform routine job duties.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, team performance, safety, and overall work processes.


Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Completion of a maintenance training or apprenticeship program preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of a variety of industrial systems, including:
    • Electromechanical systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Electrical and electronic systems
    • Programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
    • Robotics and automated equipment
  • Proficiency in using basic and advanced hand tools and other equipment commonly used in industrial maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.


Communication & Computer Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to use computerized maintenance systems and other workplace technology as needed.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to complete additional technical training or coursework as needed based on experience, skills assessment, or job requirements.
