Speech Pathologist Assistant

The Speech Pathologist Assistant supports certified Speech Pathologists in delivering effective therapy to both pediatric and adult patients with a range of speech and language disorders. This role involves assisting with therapy sessions focused on specific conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Apraxia of Speech, and Dysphagia, among others. The assistant works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.

Responsibilities

• Support Speech Pathologists in patient assessments and therapy sessions
• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans
• Document and report patient progress accurately and timely manner
• Collect data to inform ongoing therapy strategies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in speech pathology assistance
• Associate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or related field
• Certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and patient communication
• Experience with documentation, reporting, and team collaboration
• Understanding of developmental language disorders and instructional support
• Strong time management, empathy, and patience skills
